Read me: template setup

Thanks for choosing this template. Twenty minutes here is the difference between a brochure and a shop that books itself.

01

Replace the Ridgeline brand: site name, wordmark text, colors (the :root token block at the top of every page's <style>), and every photo in assets/img/ — swap the sample shots for YOUR shop, YOUR crew, and YOUR repairs. Real photos out-convert stock every time. Blur or crop license plates and VINs. Fonts are self-hosted in assets/fonts/ (Fraunces + Hanken Grotesk, SIL OFL — license included).

02

Update the business facts everywhere: search every page for '(208) 555-0134', '2180 Alloy Way', and the hours block (Mon–Fri 7:30–5:30 · Sat 9–1), and replace with your real NAP. Consistent name-address-phone across the site, your Google Business Profile, and directories is the bedrock of local SEO.

03

Certifications: the I-CAR Gold Class, ASE, and OEM badges on the homepage are PLACEHOLDERS (marked with an asterisk). Replace them with the credentials your shop actually holds — and only those. Delete any you can't back up; claiming certifications you don't have is misrepresentation and can carry legal consequences.

04

Testimonials: the three quotes in the Reviews section are fictional. Replace them with your real Google reviews — copied verbatim, first name plus initial — and embed a live Google-reviews widget in the marked slot. Never fabricate or paraphrase a review.

05

Wire the estimate form: the form on the Free Estimate page is a static mock — connect it to your inbox or CRM using a form service that accepts photo attachments (photo uploads are the whole point for a body shop). The page promises a reply during business hours; honor it, because response speed wins the job.

06

Insurance section: the "you choose the shop" language is accurate and standard in every state — keep it. If you hold DRP (direct repair program) relationships, list them honestly; never imply an insurer partnership you don't have, and never suggest a customer must use one.

07

Warranty: the lifetime workmanship and refinish warranty copy must match what you actually hand customers in writing at delivery. Adjust the wording to your real terms rather than deleting the section — a written warranty is your strongest closer.

08

Before/after: swap the sample fender pair for your own work and keep it honest — same vehicle, same angle, no simulated "afters" presented as real repairs. This section converts harder than anything else on the page when the photos are genuinely yours.

09

Publish: add LocalBusiness/AutoBodyShop schema (business name, phone, hours, address) in each page's head, connect your domain, then submit the sitemap in Google Search Console.

Compliance

Before going live: certification and licensing claims must be verifiable; reviews must be real and attributed; warranty language must match the document you actually issue; and if the form triggers SMS replies, add consent language to the form and privacy policy. The "know your rights" insurance copy is general information — keep the "not legal advice" note with it.
