SHEET C-1 · BODY CONTOURING
PLANNED TO YOUR TISSUE
Body contouring: three operations, planned to your tissue.
Liposuction, abdominoplasty, and the combined plans that follow pregnancy each solve a different problem. The consultation determines which one fits your tissue; the quote states its whole price, in writing.
THIS SHEET · THREE PLANS
All from-figures are all-in: surgeon, facility, anesthesia. Your own number is itemized in writing after consultation.
C.02 · LIPOSUCTION
CONTOUR · NOT WEIGHT LOSS
Liposuction: for the deposits that ignore the gym.
Liposuction removes localized fat deposits that hold their shape regardless of diet and training: flanks, lower abdomen, inner thighs, the area under the chin. It is a contouring tool, not a weight-loss method, and it does not tighten loose skin; your skin quality is what determines how cleanly the new contour shows, which is exactly what the consultation exam assesses.
The from-figure covers a typical single-region plan. Additional regions are itemized on the same written quote, so a two-area plan is still one number.
DAY 03-05
DESK WORK
Most desk-based patients are back within three to five days, wearing the compression garment under clothes. Soreness reads like an aggressive workout, typically.
WK 06
GARMENT ENDS
The compression garment is worn for about six weeks, typically; it does real work controlling swelling and helping skin redrape. Exercise returns in stages before it comes off.
MO 03-06
CONTOUR SETTLES
Swelling resolves gradually and the contour reads more definitely over three to six months. Judge the result then; individual healing varies.

C.03 · ABDOMINOPLASTY
MUSCLE REPAIR + SKIN
Tummy tuck: the repair liposuction cannot do.
An abdominoplasty does two things liposuction cannot: it repairs abdominal muscles that separated with pregnancy or weight change (diastasis), and it removes the excess skin that no exercise will retract. That is why patients who have done everything right at the gym still end up here; the problem is structural, and the fix is surgical.
The honest trade is a scar, hip to hip, placed low enough to sit under most waistbands. Where it sits is planned with you, in your own underwear line, before anything is scheduled.
WK 01
WALK HUNCHED
You will walk bent at the waist the first week; that is by design, protecting the muscle repair while it starts to heal. Short, frequent walks begin the first day.
WK 01-02
DRAINS OUT
Surgical drains typically come out between one and two weeks, at your follow-up. Sofia walks you through emptying and logging them; it is easier than it sounds.
WK 02
DESK WORK
Most desk-based patients are back around two weeks, standing straighter each day. Driving returns once you are off prescription medication and can brake without guarding.
WK 06-08
LIFTING RETURNS
Core work and lifting wait for the muscle repair, typically six to eight weeks, cleared in stages at follow-up. Protecting the repair early is what makes the result last.
MO 03+
SWELLING RESOLVES
Swelling resolves over months, not weeks, and often fluctuates through the day early on. The waistline you planned emerges gradually; individual healing varies.

C.04 · MOMMY MAKEOVER
COMBINE OR STAGE · DECIDED AT CONSULT
The combined plan, with the trade stated honestly.
A mommy makeover is not one operation; it is a plan that typically pairs abdominal work with breast surgery after pregnancy. The real decision is combine or stage. Combining means one anesthesia, one recovery, and one stretch of childcare logistics. Staging means two shorter operations and two recoveries, and can be the safer call depending on scope and health screening.
Dr. Marlowe prices both paths in the same itemized format, so you compare real numbers and real calendars, not a brochure. The combined from-figure below reflects a typical breast-plus-abdomen scope; recovery follows the longest component, usually the abdominoplasty arc above.
MARGIN NOTE
Combining is a candidacy decision, not a discount decision. If the safe answer for you is staging, that is the answer you will get, with both quotes in hand.

C.05 · CANDIDACY
WEIGHT-STABLE · SCREENED
Contouring rewards stability.
None of these operations is a weight-loss method, and we will not present them as one. They are shaping operations that work best from a stable baseline: a weight you have held for several months and can keep without heroics. Operating mid-descent wastes your result; operating mid-climb undoes it.
Timing matters too. A later pregnancy can change an abdominoplasty result, so if more children may be in your plans, that belongs in the consultation conversation; sometimes the honest advice is simply: not yet. Health screening covers the same ground it would before any surgery under anesthesia.
ASSESSED AT CONSULTATION
- C.1Weight history and stability over recent months
- C.2Skin quality versus fat volume: which operation actually fits
- C.3Diastasis check: are the abdominal muscles separated
- C.4Hernia screen, coordinated into the plan when present
- C.5Goals against trade-offs, including scar placement, openly
The exam drives the plan. Candidacy is determined in consultation, not by this page.
C.06 · FAQ
CONTOURING · SPECIFICS
Asked about contouring, specifically.
The general questions, from the consult fee to financing, live on the practice FAQ. These are the ones contouring patients ask.
Call (480) 555-0142Is liposuction a way to lose weight?
No, and any consult that tells you otherwise is selling. The volumes removed are measured in liters at most, and safety limits are real. Liposuction shapes a stable body; it does not change the number on the scale in any way that matters. If weight loss is the goal, that conversation comes first, honestly.
How long do the drains stay in?
For an abdominoplasty, typically one to two weeks; they come out at a follow-up visit when output drops below the threshold. You get a simple log sheet, Sofia’s direct line, and the reassurance that removal takes seconds. Liposuction alone typically does not need drains.
Can liposuction and a tummy tuck be combined?
Often, yes; flank liposuction alongside an abdominoplasty is one of the most common pairings, because it treats the sides the tuck does not reach. Whether it is right for you is a candidacy call. Both versions are quoted in the same itemized format so you can see exactly what the addition costs.
Will the fat come back after liposuction?
The fat cells removed do not grow back, but the cells that remain can still enlarge with weight gain, and the gain can distribute differently than before. That is why weight stability is the honest prerequisite: liposuction holds up exactly as well as your baseline does. Individual results vary.
