Your windshield is structural. We replace it like it matters.
In a rollover, the windshield helps keep the roof off your head. In a front-end hit, it's the backboard the passenger airbag fires against. That's why we follow the written OEM procedure — every car, every time — and why you leave with a stated safe drive-away time, not a shrug.
Five facts we build every job around.
Up to 60% of roof-crush strength in a rollover routes through the glued glass. A starved urethane bead is invisible — until it isn't.
The airbag fires against the glass. The passenger bag bounces off the windshield to reach you. A bad bond can let the glass — and the bag — blow outward.
Urethane has a clock. We use fast-cure urethane rated to your car's weight and print the safe drive-away time on your invoice. Typically 60 minutes; never guessed.
Rust doesn't get glued over. If the pinch weld shows corrosion after cut-out, you see it, we prime it properly, and only then does glass go on.
Cameras move with the glass. New windshield, new optics: if your car carries a forward camera, calibration is part of the job, not an upsell. Inside the bay →
About two hours, most of it patience.
Protect & cut out
Fenders covered, dash sheeted, cowl off. The old bead is cut with cold-knife or fiber line — no grinder near your paint.
~30 MIN
Prep & prime
Old urethane trimmed to 1 mm — fresh bonds to old best. Bare metal scratched? Primed and flashed off, by the book.
~20 MIN
Bead & set
One continuous triangular bead, then the glass set with vacuum cups on alignment blocks. Centered, seated, taped.
~15 MIN
Calibrate & release
Camera cars roll to the calibration bay. Every car gets a leak-check, the printed report, and its drive-away time.
45–60 MIN
For the first 24 hours: leave a window cracked a finger's width (pressure), skip the car wash (jets), leave our tape on till morning (moldings), and don't slam doors. We print this on the invoice too.
OEM or OE-equivalent. Your call, honestly priced.
Both are new, DOT-certified laminated glass. The difference is the name in the corner and sometimes the optics package. We quote both numbers whenever both exist — you pick.
Our default advice: HUD cars, acoustic packages, and anything under factory warranty get OEM. A 2012 pickup with a plain windshield does beautifully on OEE — and the savings are real.
| OEM | OE-equivalent | |
|---|---|---|
| Made by | Your automaker's glass supplier, their branding | Often the same factories, aftermarket line |
| DOT certified | Yes | Yes |
| Fit & optics | Factory spec, guaranteed | Meets spec; we reject panes with distortion |
| HUD / acoustic | Always matched | Matched when the variant exists |
| Typical price | Higher — varies by car | Often 30–50% less |
| Our take | New cars, HUD, leases | Most daily drivers |
Door, back, and quarter glass too.
Side and back glass is tempered — it doesn't crack, it turns to cubes. That job is less about bonding and more about a full vacuum of the door cavity, the seat rails, and the carpet, plus regulator and defroster checks before you drive off.
Replacement questions, straight answers.
Can I drive it home the same day?
Yes — after the safe drive-away time on your invoice, usually 60 minutes with the fast-cure urethane we stock. The 24-hour care list (cracked window, no washes, tape on) rides along on the invoice.
Will you match my rain sensor, HUD, heated glass?
We quote from your VIN, which tells us the exact factory glass variant — sensor brackets, acoustic layer, HUD wedge, heating elements, antenna. That's why our quotes are exact instead of "starting at."
Do you fill the washer jets / replace the moldings?
Reveal moldings that are designed to be single-use are replaced as part of the quote, not discovered as an extra at pickup. Cowl clips that age-crack are stocked on the van.
What if my pinch weld has rust?
Light surface rust gets treated and primed as part of the job. Perforating rust is a body-shop problem — we'll show you photos, tape it safe, and point you to a shop we trust rather than glue glass to a failing frame.
Is the calibration really necessary?
If your car has a forward camera: yes, per your manufacturer's own service position. Skipping it can leave lane-keep and emergency braking silently aimed wrong. It's included in the same visit, with the report printed. How calibration works.
Text the VIN plate. We'll do the rest.
Glass, moldings, calibration if your car needs it — one number, itemized, by text. Most windshields are in stock same or next morning.
